The Middle East Peace process has been on-going since the mid 1900s. The true solution is quite simple
but highly explosive. America and the United Nations have been engaged as referees in this untenable affair. Both sides have
legitimate issues honed by historical and cultural domains. There is a common denominator in all this frenzy. The Palestinians
need a viable economy to support themselves. The Israelis want acceptance and real peace and safety. The radicals on both
sides are determined to stymie any workable solution.
My thought is that the Israeli and the Palestinian people must fuse together in harmony. I came across an ancient proverb that said: “Spirituality is easy.
It is Religions that cause the problems.” America and the countries of the United Nations have always cultivated the
notion that separating the factions will guarantee peace and security. This, to me is a cop-out premise....similar to the
Two State Solution. This is actually driving a wedge between these people rather than
fomenting an honest and permanent bond. Of course, separating Israel and Palestine will corral the sides into sectors. But
consider the India and Pakistan situation where they are separated but with Nuclear missles pointing at each other.
America and the countries in the United Nations must promote a safe and secure buffer zone to seed
a functional economy for the Palestinians. This is vital to allow them to advance themselves politically, socially and economically.
The Palestinian Authority must be held accountable to insure that the security of the West Bank and Israel are maintained
and honored. The Israelis on the other hand must cease and desist with their expansion
programs and terminate all homesteads in the Golan Heights and the West Bank. There are far too many blessings to be gained by both
parties and we should concentrate on these virtues..
Speaking as an outsider, you may or may not agree with my thoughts. However, I do
want to know how you feel. Please send me your comments for publication. Thank you very much. Salam.
